Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and a Kippah

This pattern was easy to knit and is a lot lacier than than picture in the magazine AND I'm dropping it off tomorrow morning!

More about the movie, later.

Now it's later and here is more about the movie.

DDLJ (as it is known in India) is a girl meets boy; girl and boy deny that they have any feelings for each other until they can't help but realize they are in love; girl and boy overcome obstacles and end up living happily ever after. The film includes all the cliches of the genre + the standard Bollywood musical numbers. What makes the film so remarkable is the performances by the two stars and the supporting cast are so fresh; the theme of the contrast between the traditional values of India clashing with Western values is handled so deftly, with respect and humor, that one ignores the predictability of the plot. It was also so refreshing to see women on the screen who are not skelton thin A cups.
